Today I’ll be doing a review of the Nerf Mega Cycloneshock.
More after the jump!
Alright let’s dive right in an see what this blaster’s all about.
First, the official description from Hasbro:

Nerf and all related properties are trademarks of Hasbro.
The Nerf N-Strike Elite Mega CycloneShock blaster has a rotating, 6-dart drum so you can fire 6 darts in a row without reloading. Load the drum with 6 Mega Whistler Darts, pull the slide back and release it, then take aim and pull the trigger to send 1 dart screaming through the air. The blaster’s drum rotates each time you fire a dart, so you can unleash all 6 Mega-sized darts onto the battlefield without reloading the blaster!
Shock the competition and send darts flying up to 90 feet (27 meters) with the Nerf N-Strike Elite Mega CycloneShock blaster! The 6-dart capacity drum rotates so you can fire all 6 darts in a row without reloading. For bigger battles and Mega-sized action, take aim with the Mega CycloneShock blaster!

And now, my two cents!
Alright, I have to say right off the bat that this blasters is already my new favorite secondary. It fits in my ThinkGeek Holster with a little bit of finessing, and it’s seriously intimidating and I’ve begun to fondly refer to it as the “hand cannon.”
This blaster has a lot of stuff going for it. It’s really solidly constructed and just feels good to hold and fire. It’s quite powerful for a stock blaster, though there’s still no way it’s hitting 90 foot distances. Still, even completely stock, it’s quite effective in wars. It’s got a nice grip and a satisfying prime. The best part of all, it’s only $20 USD. Completely worth it in my opinion.
There’s only one downside that I can think of and that is that the prime takes a little getting used to, due to the rotation mechanism being connected to the prime handle. So halfway through priming, the mechanism kicks in and kind of makes it feel not so nice to prime. But once you get used to it, it’s not really that big of a deal.
