And now for my two cents!
So, I’ve been disappointed in Nerf for the most part, as it seems they shied away from plunger-powered clip-fed blasters for their 2015 lineup. Sure, there’s some clip-fed flywheel stuff coming out but there’s just something much more gratifying about priming and firing a spring powered blaster.
That being said, I think this is a neat concept. It’s basically an inline Jolt with a bigger plunger tube, but it’s also a breached blaster. Meaning that once you prime the slide back, you place the dart in the opening that the slide covers. I was surprised at that, I was convinced this was going to be a muzzle loading blaster. But that is not the case.
What’s also cool is that it has a free-floating plunger. Meaning there’s just a circular plunger head and a spring behind it. The Magnus has this as well. This means that there’s no plunger rod to have to deal with, so multiple springs can be used without worrying about the diameter of the spring not being able to fit on the plunger rod.
I also really dig the stock. It’s got a neat little clip on it so you could have this on your tactical belt as a tertiary blaster for when all else fails.
For $15 USD I think it’s a pretty worthy purchase. It has some modding potential, and looks like just a fun little blaster.
What do you guys think?
